Chiropodists and Podiatrists

What is the difference between a Podiatrist and a Chiropodist?

There is no denying that the two titles cause some confusion. The simple answer is that all practitioners registered in Ontario after July 31st, 1993 are registered under the title Chiropodist. Therefore, there haven't been any new registrants with the title Podiatrist in Ontario for over 30 years. Both professions (Chiropodists and Podiatrists) are regulated by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.

Chiropodists and Podiatrists are both primary health care providers specializing in the assessment and treatment of lower limb disorders.
